All troubled businesses’ issues lead back to one source: people. Behind faulty business plans or ineffective processes are the personnel that were involved somehow. When examining your employees, they will naturally fall into one of two categories.
Simply put, they are either part of the solution or part of the problem.
Identifying the appropriate group for each employee is the first step towards effective change. With diligence, the first group can be taught new behaviors and disciplines, and ultimately be led to success. Once you do, the results will be immediately apparent. The second group-the problem contingent-however, tends to be rigid in their view of the company and their own jobs. Therefore, to ensure the future success of the company, this group should only be led to the door.
